Quick & Healthy On-The-Go Snack Ideas

We know how hard it can be to eat healthy while also living a crazy, busy life.  Sometimes you feel like you're home for 5 minutes, and then you're out the door again running from here to there.  We are sharing with you our favorite quick & easy on-the-go snacks.  Have them ready, grab and go.  Don't feel guilty about the snacks you eat while out and about.

Refer to the numbers on the picture above to see the description of the following snack ideas:

1.  Greek yogurt with granola.  I love this snack not only for the delicious flavor, but it is satisfying on both hunger and sweetness.  I like buying flavored greek yogurt and then I add 1/4 C. of the Bare Naked brand granola in with it.  Under 300 calories.

2.  Protein bar with fruit.  This is the perfect snack for those of us that lift weights and workout. When I am done working out in the morning this is what I grab to eat.

3.  Fiber one bar with cottage cheese. A little protein a little carb, this is a yummy snack.

4.  For the kids: Kids' Zone Bar with fruit. I purchase mine at Costco, perfect snack that my kids like to eat.

5.  Crackers and string cheese. 28 Crackers are 130 calories, and I pair it with a Light String Cheese. Total of 210 calories.

6.  Almonds with fruit.  This always seems to satisfy me when I get the munchies, just remember not too many almonds!

7.  Babybel cheese with apple.  There is something about this cheese that I love!  This snack is great to take with you in the car while you're out an about.

8.  Protein muffins with dark chocolate chips.  This recipe for the muffins is on the box of the Kodiak Cake Mix.  It has banana's, dark chocolate chips, and a few other yummy ingredients.  Thanks to a good friend who made these one of my favorite healthy snacks.

9.  Protein bar with string cheese.  Zone perfect bars offer a large variety in flavors.  My top three favorite flavors are cinnamon roll, fudge graham, and chocolate almond raisin.  The nutritional facts in Zone Bars are great because it fits all of these macronutrients (depending on flavor): about 210 calories, 7 grams fat, 23 grams carbs, 14 grams protein.  I like pairing this with a low-fat string cheese and I am still under 300 calories.
